Judge Weeramantry was invited to present his views by the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission on November 29, 2010 at the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute for Strategic Studies.
During his presentation Judge Weeramantry stressed on the importance of peace education in the post conflict dynamics as a key tool through which reconciliation could take place. Also, he emphasized the projects carried out by WICPER especially through the Training for Trusteeship series of workshops, which were aimed at enhancing the trust and faith between the communities and getting them to work together toward a sustainable peace.
