Judge Weeramantry Addresses the 11th World Chief Justices Conference

Judge Weeramantry was invited by the City Montessori School, Lucknow India to deliver the Key Note Address at the 11th World Chief Justices Conference which was held in Lucknow, India from December 7-16, 2010. During this Conference, Judge Weeramantry met with His Holiness the Dalai Lama and several Chief Justices from across the globe.


Judge Weeramantry is one of the Advisors to the City Montessori School, which is one of the leading schools in the world for peace education and was awarded the UNESCO Peace Education Award in 2002. During this visit, Judge Weeramantry and WICPER coordinator Gayani Hewawasan and volunteer Shennelle Fernando also held meetings with several leading persons including Former President of Mauritius Cassam Uteem, and Founder President of the Seychelles, Sir James Mancham. 


He also exchanged pleasantries with Dr. Jagdish Gandhil, Founder Manager of the City Montessori School (CMS), Lucknow and with other officials of the School. WICPER has had a close association with CMS during the last ten years.
